Eri and I entered DF again last night only to find that there are people who don't think that the mechanics apply to them. While it is true that there are some mechanics that you can completely ignore in these days of being over-geared, there are still fights that require you to stay on your toes and Turn 9 (SCoB turn 4) is one of them. Our first group had a main tank that couldn't hold single target aggro against even the lowest geared DPS. In one breathe asked us to hold off and in the next asked why the DPS was slow. Maybe you're a bit slow? The other tank was a little better, but when it came to the golems, it was a total crap storm. BTW, if you're going to use the single tank method, I would definitely suggest a very highly geared warrior or a paladin. The Pally has the upper hand in the defensive cool down category, but well geared warriors are aggro magnets.

Our second run was a total bust and proof that a single party member can make a clear impossible if that person isn't paying attention. In this case, a bard who did not know how to place the meteors or stack for shared damage. This bard was consistently killed when we were supposed to stack, but more importantly, he would not silence Earthshock, drop meteors next to each other, drop meteors on teammates… in other words, consistently wipe the raid. When a vote to dismiss was rejected, I mentioned that he should join the rest of the party when stacking. Although he said he tried and it was his slow PC that was to blame, each time, he continued to do the same. I doubt he was paying attention. Once someone left, Eri and I bailed out as well.
